Kevin Kowalski and Cody Lockwood visited Japan in October of 2015 and met up with the Felem Skates crew to tear into an assortment of DIY terrain. It was an amazing skate adventure with the sickest spots backed by a genuine hospitality that goes off the charts.
Unfortunately, upon their return home several of the recorded digital clips either went missing or ended up stuck on corrupt hard drives. Held hostage by technology for over a year, fortunately some of these pieces of digital media have since been recovered and we’re sharing them with you now. So have a look into an action-packed overseas journey that these gnarly cohorts took with their newfound friends when the world was just a bit more carefree. Pave your own path in life, embrace new friendships and long live skateboarding!
We took the long way home from Bend and found ourselves entertained on the streets of Walla Walla, Washington for a couple of afternoons. Along the highway westward towards home, we stopped at the Irrigon skatepark where we soon learned that Kevin still had a lot of gas in his tank with a NDB in precarious territory. Damn, sometimes road trips are just like that; they keep the hunger alive. Get out there and get some!
With the shorter days and wet months of winter in the distant rear view, we hit the road south to Bend for a couple of days to shred some backyard bowls and to blaze around the nearby skatepark in Sisters, Oregon. We met up with local resident and Lifeblood rider, Jake Selover and connected with some great people and a dose of the best skate zones that the region has to offer.
With more miles to go on our odometer and plenty of gas left in the tank, we’ll take you along for the second part of this little adventure very soon. Stay tuned!
