2019 Skateboarding Hall of Fame inductee Tom "Wally" Inouye's original Caster branded stinger shaped deck was first released back in November of 1978. From those initial production runs and the subsequent rise of wider pig shapes, he and his friend Skateboarder Magazine's Contributing Editor Curtis Hesselgrave tinkered with the idea of creating channels to assist with grip for during skateboarding's rise of aerial maneuvers in 1979.
Thankfully, Wally had no interest in rails at the time and this one-of-kind skateboard appeared in Jim Goodrich's iconic photo of Wally skating Del Mar Skate Ranch inside of Skateboarder Magazine's 1979 Photo Annual and was never to be seen again. To commemorate the year which this unique deck was first created, ridden, and photographed, Lifeblood Skateboards has teamed up with Wally and Professor Paul Schmitt to produce an inspired, limited edition of 79 of these decks.
This commemorative deck comes complete with blue Jessup griptape with a Caster inspired laser cut Lifeblood logo. (Photo coming soon).
